Turbinectomy
Turbinectomy

Nearly 20% of the world's population suffers from nasal airway obstruction. The most common cause of chronic nasal airway obstruction is hypertrophied inferior turbinates, a condition resulting from allergic or vasomotor rhinitis. Lasers are increasingly being used to shrink or reduce turbinates and reduce bleeding during surgery. Physicians can perform the procedure in an office or outpatient setting without nasal packing. The precision and superior outcomes give laser surgery an extraordinary advantage over traditional turbinate surgeries.

In addition to direct benefits attained by reduction of the turbinates, many patients experience improvement of other related symptoms such as nasal discharge, frequent sneezing and recurrent rhino-sinusitis.

Nasal Probe

Nasal Probe Kit*

Easy to use, based on proprietary technology, Lumenis nasal probes deliver the the CO2 laser beam through a narrow (0.8mm) hollow waveguide. By using Superpulse or UltraPulse mode, the nasal probes obtain a clean tissue effect in a very short time. This cost-effective technology offers various probe configurations suitable for the treatment of the different anatomical structures inside the nasal cavity. Small 1.9 mm external diameter probes allow for precise and convenient laser access to the posterior nasal regions and are designed for maximum visibility with the integrated smoke evacuation to maintain a clear field even within the confines of a nasal specula.
