Once considered the ubiquitous childhood surgery, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy techniques have made great strides with the advent of laser technology. Whether performing a complete dissection, reduction or superficial ablation of the tonsils and adenoids, Lumenis has the tools for successful and swift laser surgery. Because laser treatment greatly reduces the procedure time and speeds recovery, both patient and physician enjoy the benefits of this advanced approach. Accessories
Gradual vaporization or ablation with Lumenis CO2 lasers is optimized with the SurgiTouch flashscanner. Extremely easy to set-up and operate, it optimizes the laser energy for uniform, layer-by-layer tissue ablation. Beyond simplicity of operation, the SurgiTouch flashscanner yields good clinical results through the use of a patented microprocessor-controlled technology. A highly focused CO2 laser beam is scanned and delivered to the treatment site so rapidly that the tissue is vaporized without carbonization or thermal transfer to surrounding structures. Minimal necrosis and excellent visual control is thus achieved. The combination of the Oral Pharyngeal Delivery Hand pieces and the SurgiTouch* scanning technology, provides the ENT surgeon with the control and accuracy needed for successful tonsil ablation. The hand piece delivery system's built-in smoke evacuation system combined with Lumenis' proprietary rapid technology virtually eliminates carbonization of the tissue during the procedure. |
