Ureteroscopic Holmium Lasertripsy for Ureteric Stones. Initial Experience
Biyani C, Comford P, Powell C The clinic benefits of the Holmium:YAG laser include a pronounced hemostatic effect, fiberoptic delivery system and a wide range of power-setting options. We review our initial experience in treating 48 patients with ureteric stones. Stones were located in the upper, middle and lower ureter in 27%, 21% and 52% of patients respectively. The Holmium laser successfully fragmented all calculi and there were no major complications. We have found the Holmium laser to be a safe, effective and reliable alternative for the management of urolithiasis. Scandinavian Journal of Urology, Vol. 32, Number 2, 92-93, Apr 1998 |
