Krespi YP, et al. Lasers photocoagulation of the inferior turbinates. Oper Tech Oto Head Neck Surg 1994;5(4):287-91. Introduction: Nasal obstruction is one of the most common symptoms in allergic or nonallergic perennial rhinitis. Nasal bostruction in rhinitis is caused by mucosal swelling, particularly of the inferior turbinates. Treatment methods directed toward reversal of inferior turbinate swelling range from intranasal and systemic medications to surgical ablation. Laser photocoagulation can reduce the size of the turbinates in an effective manner with minimal morbidity and discomfort to the patient. |
